Confidential Referrals

We work with children, adolescents and families from a wide range of backgrounds that represent the variety and richness of our community. We think of all "problems" as representing our attempts to stay in balance as we cope with the challenges life presents us — some of these challenges are external, such as traumatic events, death and loss, divorce, being uprooted and becoming foster or adoptive children, or refugees. Other challenges are internally driven, such as anxiety, self-doubt, trouble staying focused or learning differences and developmental disabilities. Whatever the nature of an individual’s life challenges, they tend to affect the whole family and direct one’s options.

Our referrals come from many sources. Parents seek assistance and guidance with their children, while courts and child protective services seek assistance in breaking inter-generational cycles of family stress and conflict, child abuse and neglect. Adoption and foster care agencies, as well as refugee resettlement agencies need us to help "transplanted" children and families grow in their new environments.

Pathways takes great pride in being a resource for all families, making a commitment to understanding, advocating and healing for all the different ways in which we are called upon to confront life as it unfolds.
